Will Smith Named 2008's Top Money Making Movie Star

International superstar Will Smith, star of "Hancock" and "Seven Pounds," was voted the star who generated the most box office revenue for theaters in an annual survey by Quigley Publishing Co.

Smith's superhero summer blockbuster, "Hancock," grossed $228 million. "Seven Pounds," currently in theaters, has grossed $39 million in its first two weeks of release.

Johnny Depp Graces Entertainment Weekly

Star Trek Movie Promotion Kick-starts 2009 Summer Movie Season

Paramount already has hit warp speed with its high-profile relaunch of the "Star Trek" franchise.

For its first 2009 venture, the studio has taken the unprecedented step of rolling out a full-scale promotional tour of the J.J. Abrams-directed "Star Trek" nearly six months before its May 8 release.

Bond, James Bond Scores Big At The Box Office




"Quantum of Solace," with Daniel Craig returning as James Bond, easily made for the best opening weekend for the spy franchise ever, earning more than $67 million at the box office. The series' first direct sequel opened with nearly $30 million more than its predecessor, 2006's "Casino Royale."
